The management of the team is very proud to officially announce you the signing of 24-years old sprinter Aleksander Bukovec. The number 4 of the Slovenia Tou rank is coming over from Team JAN for 90k and is motivated to show his skills at his new team.
Manager Leukefans: "I'm really happy to have Aleksander in my team, he has a great rider and I'm already following him for a while now. It's clear to me that he has great opportunities, though I think we haven't seen the best of him yet. Our goal is to get some Division 3 results with Aleksander, and take of the pressure of youngster Inge Lindberg, who is supposed to become our team captain in the future. Until then, while Lindberg is getting better and better, we expect only good things from Aleksander and we are very confident that he won't dissapoint us."
Aleksander Bukovec himself is glad to have a new team, buts stays realistic: "I'm feeling very well in this new surrounding. Both my new teammates and the management have welcomed me very warmly and I feel I'm going to have a great time here. it is ver nice that I can be the team's captain for know, and I know that Inge Lindberg will probably take over leadership in the future, but by then, I want to be one of the best lead-out in the world! My short termgoals are to get some fine results, prove the team that I'm a worthy transfer and get into the top 500 in the OCM ranking. "
The teammanagement wanted to make clear that Jerome Neessens, who had to leave Team Leukefans, left in peace and that there are have never been any problem between Neessens and the management:
"It is unfortunate that Jerome had to leave us, but this happened in a good atmosphere. Jerome Neessens always was one of the strongholders of this team and has brought us a lot of succes and beautifull, unforgetable moments. He is a team icon and will always stay a team icon. We want to thank hem for everything he did for the team, in the name of the management, the fans and his former teammates. Thank you very much, Jerome, good luck finding a new team, and perhaps we will see each other again!"
